ER Craziness

Everything is okay now, but man has this been a roller coaster of a day!!

I went to school this morning and was not feeling my best. I discovered that I had a lot of swelling around my ankles and calves last night and showed a coworker of mine that is pregnant and has two kiddos. I feel like she is a good source of information. She asked me about my blood pressure and I told her that it has been fine. She told me to go to the school nurse to have my BP checked and call my OB to see what they said. I've also been getting really winded when I talk or walk. My OB's nurse called and said to go to the ER, but I really didn't want to do this and didn't feel that it was really that bad. So I went to the school nurse and she said that my blood pressure was too high and I did need to go on to the ER to have everything checked out.

Jill came to pick me up and we got to the hospital at 11 and didn't get home until after 5!! They were so slow and we kept asking them when I could get the bloodwork, x-ray, etc... and magically then they were ready for me. I guess they just weren't in much of a hurry to help me. All my tests came back normal except for one and they told me I could have a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in my lungs)-- WELL GREAT! So they order a CT scan to make sure and the results were good. So after five hours they ended up sending me home saying to keep an eye on my blood pressure!!!

I am glad we went because I would rather be safe than sorry- but GEEZ!! The only good thing was that I got to hear the heartbeat again:) I LOVE THAT SOUND!! It was a strong 160bpm. So I guess the little baby bug is doing okay in there.

I hope all is well for my blog friends! Please keep us in your prayers:) Love to all!

That is VERY scary !
Don't do that again ! :)
I'm glad that everything came back good. But your blood pressure was up that can't be good. Did they tell you why and what was with all of the swelling ?

Oh I'm so glad everything is ok! It's so scary when things like this happen while you are pregnant.
Take care of yourself!

I had preeclampsia with J and classic signs are high blood pressure with edema (swelling). I'm glad everything was fine. I wound up buying a bp monitor so I could just check at home and not worry. Keep your feet up and relax!

So do you know why you were so swollen? That doesn't sound good. Or comfortable.
But I'm so happy to hear the bug is happy and healthy.
Rest up!
