Let me just say that I was totally blown away by my weight gain this month- 10 freakin pounds!! Yes, you read that correctly- WTF?!?!?! I did not do anything differently but boy did the scale think so! The doctor said that was not a big deal, but it sure is to me! I think the whole office heard me yell 10 lbs!!!!!! Everyone was laughing and I asked if I got a prize for the most weight gain, but they said they have had many more do that and even higher. She said the most weight gain they have seen in a month was 18lbs. Thank GOD that wasn't me! So after I calmed down from the shock of it all we met with the doctor and I asked her several questions about my achy shins, being off work, and his size being big, which is what they keep telling me at Vanderbilt. She measured me again and checked it four times then said. "WOW that's very generous growth!" We all laughed- I knew he grew a lot because I noticed a huge difference in my belly this week. She said we will do an ultrasound in two weeks and will continue to monitor his growth. She also mentioned that we may have to have a C-section:( I really want t0 experience a vaginal birth, but I will be okay with whatever will get him here safely. So I guess we are going to have a BIG BOY! I knew he loved it when I ate, but come on 10lbs!!! Okay I guess I just have to get over it! We also go to hear his heartbeat- boy do I love that sound! It was a nice strong 147 bpm!
We are out of school once again for snow- I really liked the idea of being off work another day, so I'm not too upset about it:) Another wonderful day to spend with my spectacular wife:) She made me breakfast this morning and is cooking me lunch as a type:) Isn't she awesome???
I am going to get my hair highlighted today! I am really excited about it! I have dark hair so I don't want blond, but I want a golden honey color chunky highlights. I will post some pics once I get home. I just hope I like it!!

Oh don't you worry about that weight! You're making that little bug grow...besides you look beautiful and glowing in your birthday pics.
Hey hey -- I'm delurking; not sure if I've commented before but just wanted to give a piece of encouragement. I'm a nurse-midwifery student and a doula. They can be off by a considerable amount on estimated fetal weight by ultrasound -- it's not that accurate in the third trimester. The only way to positively say you are unable to birth a baby vaginally is to give you a trial of labor -- basically letting you go into labor, then seeing what happens. Thinking you may have a large baby shouldn't be the only indication for a c-section. Ask for a trial of labor if you want to see if you can do it vaginally :)
Amber, don't worry, the 10 lbs will be worth it once Braden is here. What other time in your life can you put on weight without your dr grilling you...enjoy it. And by the way, Morgan weighed a pound less than they estimated in her ultrasound.
I gained quite a bit this month too! The midwives assured me that baby is just growing, growing!!
I'm also curious about why you have to have a c-section. Of course you should trust your doc, but let them know that you were hoping for a vaginal birth. You should definitely be able to get what you want!
LOL. I just told Lois your line about wanting to experience a vaginal birth! She would have given anything for a c-section!
