Updates

I'll begin with yesterdays OB appointment... We waited for almost two hours once again to get into the doctor. It was their first day back from Spring Break so they said it is always crazy the day after they have been out. I was weighed- keep in mind it is only 3 weeks this time, not 4 like before and the whale that I am gained 11 lbs. this time. I realize that I am holding a lot of fluid, since I am swelling up like a cow, but really 11 lbs!!! She measured the baby bug and he is measuring at 35 weeks and we are 34 so that is all good:) I let her know that I have had more frequent Braxton Hicks Contractions and some higher blood pressure readings over the past week and she told me to let the school nurse check me every day in the mornings. She also told me she would check me at my next visit to see if there is anything going on in there- too cool!!

THEN comes today---what an eventful day!! When I got to school this morning I just didn't feel myself so I went ahead and had the nurse take my BP and it was HIGH- 152/100! Yikes! I've never had a reading that high. So I called the doctor on call since my OB's office is close on Tuesdays. They took two hours to call me back because their doctor didn't get in that day until 11AM. and I had rechecked it by then and it was 148/90, which is much better but still too high. So the doctor on call told me to go Labor/Delivery to be monitored and checked. I felt kindof silly going because I didn't feel that bad, but everyone told me I better go because if something happened to the baby I would never forgive myself---SO TRUE!! Jill came to pick me up and we headed to L & D and they hooked me up to some monitors and saw that I was contracting. So they watched my contractions and checked me, I was a fingertip dilated. When the nurse said that, Jill said, "SHUT UP!" She was in shock! I thought is was kinda neat that I was dilated at all, but I know he needs to stay in there at least two more weeks. My contractions continued and became more frequent so they gave me a shot to stop them and a ton of water to drink. About an hour later, the contractions dulled a little so they decided to let me come home but reassured me that if I needed to return that I should come on back. All of the nurses were fantastic and so sweet!

So here I am at the computer letting all my blog buddies know what is happening here in good ole Kentucky:) I am doing good, Braden is doing great, and we are praying he just settles down and relaxes for another two weeks:)

OMG, that SO takes my back to my own delivery....the high BP and going to L&D to be monitored! WOW, it's going to be soon! I hope he settles for a few more weeks though and hope that your BP stays in check. Try to maintain your calm and take it easy!
