I came across a super website and Cryobank that allows women to do their own inseminations at home. Since Jill had always done most of the job at the doctor's office anyway, we decided that she could do that at home as well. So we ordered us up some spermies and had them sent to our house to have our first at home attempt. It was a much more relaxed and intimate experience and one that I would recommend for people that know the process. Sadly, it still did not produce a pregnancy. We began thinking of other options and thought about a man that we knew and both thought highly of. We both agreed to ask him if he would donate his sperm with no strings attached. After many conversations and a Known Donor Agreement , we agreed to proceed and try with him. It was a very interesting experience and I still think there are policemen just waiting at the gas station down the street to catch the people that were swapping a brown bagged item for cash-- HA! HA! It really felt like a drug transaction was going on:) So we sped home and did the deed and waited for the results--- once again a BFN (Big Fat Negative). After that experience we decided the Known Donor thing just wasn't for us because we didn't want the risk of him deciding somewhere down the road that he did want to be a "father" to our child. We want to be the only parents in our child's life and not have someone else try to break us apart.
So we were back to square one after seven unsuccessful tries:(
